Just doesn't feel finished............

Did a bit more landscaping on it this morning but it still doesn't feel finished. Will probably spend most of the day picking it up and waiting for that "that's it!" to hit me :)

It has legs..............

Shelby had a good day today plus the nurse was here for a couple of hours so I got to do a little work on my little house. I was bored and thought it needed something so I gave it legs :) Hoping to get to work on it a bit more tomorrow which should pretty much finish it. All I need to do is the landscaping.

Shelby...........

I haven't been posting for a while as Shelby has been in and out of the hospital more lately. We have been home for a week but things are not going well. Shelby does not seem to be recuperating from this last hospitalization so I brought her home so she could be in a place where she is more comfortable. I really wish that I could say that she was going to get better but I don't seem to be able to fix her this time :( Please send lots of positive thoughts her way.......

The base is on .............

Finished the base for the little house yesterday so today I am going to be working on the landscaping :)

The Tower Roof is Finished......

Finished shingling the tower roof last night and I am happy with the way it turned out :) If all goes well today I should be able to start on the landscaping!

Home again.....

We are home again and I am hoping to get started on the little house again today once Shelby gets settled in. She is realizing she is home again, so she has her own possessions around her, which cheers her up.

Happy Halloween.......

Happy Halloween everyone! We are spending ours back in the hospital as Shelby was admitted again last Wednesday night. Since Thursday she has been in intensive care but we are hoping to get out on the regular floor today so we can enjoy some of the Halloween treats that the hospital puts on for the kids.

Under construction......

I have been trying to finish up this little house for the last couple of months, but due to all the time I have been in the hospital with Shelby, it is taking forever. Today I am hoping to finish up the shingles on the turret roof and then I can get started on the landscaping :)

Home tomorrow..........................

If all goes well tonight, looks like we can go home tomorrow :)

Back in the hospital............

Shelby has been having some high blood pressure issues for the last couple of days so yesterday they decided to put her in the hospital. When we got here , her pressure was through the roof and they are still trying to stabilize it. Hoping they can figure out what is causing this as it is happening every couple of weeks or so, although it has never gotten this bad.

Poor baby...................

I was in the backyard this afternoon when I heard this really sad crying noise. Looked all over the place and then spotted this little baby racoon clinging to the side of the tree. It made it back to it's den but because I didn't see the parents, I put in a call to the rescue center to get some advice. I will now be keeping an eye on the little thing to make sure that it hasn't been abandoned. If it has, I will be calling the rescue center again tomorrow.

Sunshine and a happy pup..........

We have been getting some great weather the last few days and my dogs are loving it! This is Madison, or Maddie as we call her, soaking up some sun :)

Just to give you an idea.........

I took a picture of the little bakery today next to one of my Carol McBride dolls just to give you an idea of its size. The little girl stands about 3 3/4 inches tall :)

1/144th scale bakery is finished.........

Wasn't quite sure how I was going to do the electrical but I finally came up with something that would work :) It has LED lighting powered by a 3 volt coin cell battery. All the wiring and battery holder are hidden in the base. The on/off switch is attached to the base at the back.
Inside the bakery are the shelves filled with cakes as well as the glass fronted counter with cakes. On top of the counter sits a cash register, a cake book and another cake. To the left are 2 tables with 4 stools. On the tables sit glass bowls with a plant in them. To the left rear is a thin shelving unit with plates on the shelves.
I am so happy with the way this turned out and looking forward to starting my next project.
Oh....and the lights aren't really that yellow in real life :)

And we have cakes.......

Last night I made the cakes and got them put on the shelves. I also put 2 cakes into the counter display as well as putting one on the counter, with a book and the cash register. Hopefully today I will be able to start putting everything into the shop :)

A little shelf....

Today I made a little shelf to go over the door. I will probably put some plants on it and if you look close, you will see that it has some scroll work on the bottom braces. They were done by a fellow miniaturist who has a laser machine (wish I had one!!). My mind has been going in circles with different ideas for things that he can cut out for me :)

It's time for the cakes......

Finished the glass front counter last night so today will start working on the cakes. After that it is just a matter of putting it all together :)

Small change in plans.....

Because of the depth of the bakery, I ended up attaching the two shelving units as they took up less room this way. Today I am going to try and make time to work on the front counter.

1/144th scale shelving

I've been playing around a little and came up with this shelving unit. There are some things about it that I really like, others just kinda BUT I did have fun making it and it is giving me some great ideas for other store shelving :) Will see if I end up putting these in the little bakery :)

The base is on......

I am so on a roll! :) Things are finally coming together on the outside of the bakery so I got the base trim made yesterday. Unfortunately I couldn't find my little chop saw so I had to go shopping this morning :) Came home, plugged it in and now the base is done!
